Large Animal Keynote Lecture: Complications: Talking About Something We’d Rather Not Discuss
Agenda
Complications are an unfortunate part of veterinary surgery. While the complication rate in most instances is quite low, it is still something the surgeon has to deal with. Complications affect not only the patient but also the surgery team, the animal care team, and the animal owners. This keynote lecture reviews a series of cases and the complications arising from them. This lecture focuses on how to discuss surgical complications with the surgery team and the owners.
