Michael Pavletic, DVM, DACVS (Moderator)

Dr. Pavletic is a 1974 graduate of the University of Illinois and a Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Surgeons. He completed his internship and surgical residency at Angell Animal Medical Center (AMC) in Boston in 1977. He is currently the director of surgery at Angell AMC. He has published more than 100 surgical articles to date and is the author of Atlas of Small Animal Wound Management and Reconstructive Surgery, fourth edition (Wiley-Blackwell, 2018). Dr. Pavletic was the president of ACVS in 2007 and chairman of the ACVS Board of Regents in 2008. He is the recipient of several awards, including the Bourgelat Award presented by the BSAVA in 1996, the ACVS Founder’s Award for Career Achievement in 2016, and the Dr. Erwin Small Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Illinois in 2010.

Dr. Thieman is a soft tissue surgeon at Texas A&M University. She attended the University of Missouri for veterinary school, the University of Tennessee for a rotating internship, and the University of Florida for residency. She has interests in surgical site infections, respiratory diseases, wounds, and all aspects of soft tissue surgery.
